Caring for Your Ceramic Planters
Share
1. Cleaning Your Ceramic Pots
To keep your ceramic pots looking pristine, wipe them down with a damp cloth every couple of weeks. If there’s stubborn dirt, use a mild dish soap diluted in water. Avoid abrasive cleaners, as they may scratch the surface. For outdoor planters, use a soft brush to remove any accumulated dust or debris.
2. Protecting from Temperature Extremes
India’s varied climate can be tough on ceramics. In regions with hot summers, prolonged sun exposure can fade the color of your pots, while in colder regions, freezing temperatures can cause cracks. During extreme heat, consider placing your pots in shaded areas or using pot covers to protect the surface. In colder climates, make sure your pots have proper drainage and bring them indoors during the winter months to prevent any water freezing inside.
3. Caring for Indoor Plants in Ceramic Pots
In areas with high humidity, like coastal regions, it's especially important to avoid water buildup at the bottom. If your pot doesn’t have drainage holes, you can still use a liner or layer of pebbles at the base for added water filtration.
